You can stop a strategy at any time - whether it still has open positions, pending orders, or is simply waiting for the next trigger.

Capitalise.ai gives you two options:

  • Stop the strategy immediately

  • Schedule the strategy to stop after the current position closes

To stop a strategy immediately:

  1. Go to My Strategies from the left-hand menu.

  2. Click the menu icon (three dots) next to the strategy you want to stop.

  3. Select Stop.

You'll be shown a confirmation screen giving you one last chance to cancel the action and keep the strategy running.

By default, stopping a strategy will:

  • Cancel any pending orders, and

  • Close any open positions associated with that strategy.

Prefer to stop the strategy but keep your positions open?

You can choose to stop the strategy while leaving open positions and orders untouched, allowing you to manage them directly from your trading account.

To do this:

  1. After clicking Stop, expand the Preferences menu.

  2. Select “Keep open positions and pending orders” from the options shown.

Note: If you choose this option, you will no longer be able to manage this trade via the Capitalise.ai platform, and the strategy cannot be restarted later.

To stop the strategy after the current hit finishes:

If you'd like the strategy to exit its current position and then stop, you can set it to stop after the next exit:

  1. Go to the strategy’s page.

  2. Switch the In Loop toggle to Once.

This tells the strategy to complete its current cycle (i.e., wait for the next exit condition to be met) and then stop running.

(Not sure what “In Loop” means? Click here to learn more.)

To delete a strategy from your account:

  1. Go to My Strategies > Stopped.

  2. Click the menu icon next to the strategy you wish to delete.

  3. Choose Delete.

Important: Deleting a strategy is permanent and cannot be undone.
