When setting up a strategy on Capitalise.ai, you’ll need to decide how often it should run - just once or on an ongoing basis.
This is simple:
Once – The strategy will execute a single time and then stop automatically.
In Loop – The strategy will keep running continuously, monitoring your conditions and executing again whenever they are met, until you manually stop it.
You can set this preference directly in the Wizard when creating your strategy:
You can also switch between Once and In Loop in two ways:
Directly within the Strategy Wizard while creating or editing your strategy.
On the Strategy Page, after the strategy has been created — simply toggle the setting to your preferred mode.
This gives you flexibility to adapt your strategy’s behavior at any time.
Why can’t I set my strategy to "In Loop"?
Not all strategies are eligible to run in a loop - certain criteria must be met for this option to be available. Specifically, a strategy must include:
An entry strategy with defined conditions
An exit strategy
Without both, the system won’t be able to reset and re-trigger the strategy after each completed cycle.
Example of a strategy that cannot loop:
Entry: Buy 10 units of [Asset A]
Exit: None
In this case, since there’s no exit strategy, the system wouldn’t know when to restart the next cycle - making it incompatible with looping.
Example of a strategy that can run in a loop:
This strategy includes both entry conditions and a defined exit, so it qualifies for looping:
Entry: Buy 10 units of [Asset A] if the price of [Asset A] rises by 5% from the base price
Exit: Close position if the profit is 2% or the loss is 2%
With this setup, the strategy can continuously execute, entering when the price rises by 5%, and exiting when either the profit or the loss reaches 2%.
