Capitalise.ai only monitors and executes trades during the live trading session of your selected market. This means that while trades won’t be executed outside of market hours, strategies can still trigger near or after market close based on how their conditions are set.
📊 Why Triggers Can Occur After the Close
If you're using time-based intervals (like 1-hour bars), the platform will continue calculating these intervals throughout the final hour of trading. For example:
If the last bar of the day is from 15:30 to 16:30, and your condition is met during that time, the strategy will still trigger - even if it’s technically after the market has closed.
This is expected behavior and allows you to evaluate full bar performance before the strategy takes action.
💡 What Happens After Triggering?
If your strategy triggers after the market is closed, the execution will take place at the open of the next trading session. This ensures that all trades are placed within active market hours.
⏱ How to Prevent Late-Day Triggers
If you'd prefer to avoid after-hours strategy triggers, you can set a Time in Force condition in your strategy.
You’ll find this option within the strategy wizard.
It allows you to define a time window during which a strategy is allowed to trigger.
For example, you can limit the trigger window to before 15:45:
This ensures your strategy only executes when market conditions are met within your preferred time frame, helping you avoid unexpected overnight executions.
