Once you start a strategy, you may find you want to make some changes.  Good news is we have an Edit feature just for this purpose!

To use this Edit feature you can pull up any strategy you have and click on the Strategy Menu and select the Edit option:

Your Strategy will auto-populate in Edit Mode.  You know you are in Edit Mode because there is an indicator above the Strategy showing you are Editing Strategy and listing the name of the strategy you are editing.

Continue through the strategy entry and exit as normal, making any* changes you want.

*Note: the only edit that cannot be made is changing whether or not you want an Exit Strategy.  For example: if you chose the Skip The Exit Strategy when you originally created the Strategy you will not be able to add an Exit while using the Edit feature. Additionally, if you had an Exit Strategy in the original Strategy but want to remove it you will not be able to do so.  In this scenario, the checkbox to Skip The Exit Strategy will be listed but you will not be able to select it.

When you are done click the Save Changes button on the Confirmation page:

Once you have saved your changes you will be brought back to the Strategy page and will see the edit history on the right-hand side of the page:

Please note: there are some changes that will not go into effect immediately.  This would happen when the entry already occurred and the edits made are not compatible with the existing entry strategy.

Here is an example** of an Edit that would not go into effect immediately:

Old entry: Buy 10k EUR/USD if EUR/USD is above the 50 day MA

Old exit: Close position if EUR/USD is 200 pips above the entry price

New entry: Buy 10k EUR/CAD if EUR/USD is above the 50 day MA

New exit: Close position if EUR/CAD is 200 pips above the entry price

When this happens the Strategy will continue to use the original exit and then use the edited strategy for the following Hit.

In these scenarios you would see 2 indicators that the Edit will go into effect once the Exit takes place and the hit is complete.  The indicators are:

  1. The notice in the edit history on the right-hand side of the Strategy page will indicate that the changes will take effect after the hit is complete.

  2. The Working on Exit indicator at the top of the page will have a pencil icon.  If you hover over the icon it will let you know the exit has been edited and the change will go into effect at the beginning of the next hit.
